Ladies First

Street Soccer USA’s Lady Salamander program was launched in partnership with Sheila Johnson in 2009 to getting more girls and young women into the game. The goal is to improve the lives of low-income and homeless girls and young women by finding their  inner strength through soccer.  Top representatives from the program compete each year in the international Homeless World Cup.  In 2017 Street Soccer USA and Shiela launched doubled down on the commitment and launched a new initiative – ‘Ladies First.’  The initial goal for this initiative is to reach more than 600 girls and young women ages 6-24, empowering them with mentorship and leadership skills-development through sport.
