About the Program

Street Soccer San Francisco is coached by David E. Rodriguez, a former semi-pro soccer player, and Antoine Lagarde, 2009 SSUSA National Team member. In 2009 San Francisco's first year participating in the SSUSA Cup, the team took home the Leonsis Family Trophy as Champions of the tournament. In 2010 they were runner's up losing to the guest team from St. Petersburg, Russia in the finals. 
 
The San Francisco program is operated out of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Multi-Service CenterThe largest homeless shelter in Northern California, located at 5th and Bryant, shelters, feeds and supports 340 homeless men and women every night, and provides drop-in services to 150 each day. In addition to offering overnight housing the MSC serves a full breakfast and dinner, offers a health clinic and HIV testing, a legal clinic, a dental clinic, a medical clinic, mood management meetings, a computer lab and resume writing services. The shelter also assists with job and housing search assistance and laundry and shower services. 
 
Street Soccer USA Oakland is run in partnership with the  St. Vincent de Paul Society Alameda. The team is run out of the agency's men's center and directed by John Ratti. The program was started in March 2010 and aims to make their first appearance at the Street Soccer USA Cup 2011.
