Liverpool FC Foundation Deliver Training at Street Soccer USA Park

This past weekend at the Street Soccer USA Park in San Francisco, coaches from Street Soccer USA‘s youth and adult programs in the Bay Area had the opportunity to be coached by coaches from the Liverpool FC Foundation. Over a period of three hours, The Liverpool FC Foundation coaches instructed Street Soccer USA coaches on several different drills that they could implement in their practices with the at-risk youth and homeless adult populations that they work with in the Bay Area. These drills were supplemented by coaching tips from the trainers and reflections on ways to improve the drills and teach more effectively the outcomes for each of the drills. Many of the drills involved cones, communication between players, passing, dribbling and shooting. Some drills were more tactical, like the diamond passing drill, and involved forming passing triangles and linking together both short and long passes. LFC legend’s Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler were on hand to take part in the training.

Both Street Soccer USA and the Liverpool FC Foundation were proud of the work they were able to accomplish together on this day. Workshops like this positively contribute to the programs that Street Soccer USA runs every week in communities in the Bay Area and across the nation.
