Adult Summer league crowns Kensington Street Soccer Cup Champs, league planned for the fall.

The inaugural Kensington Cup was held on August 19 on the Street Soccer Mini Pitch at 3757 Jasper Street. Hot temperatures could not keep the 10 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams from playing awesome streets soccer and crowning their Summer League champions.

After 35 matches and over 150 hamburgers and hotdogs later, the women’s division was won by Team USA (left photo), a combination of local Kensington Soccer players and college kids. The men’s trophy went to Tuzos (right  photo) who narrowly beat the Street Soccer Philly team 7-6. Photos of champions below

This fall Street Soccer USA Philadelphia will be starting an ongoing league at Jasper St Mini-pitch. Contact Oliver@streetsoccerusa.org for more information.

Needeless to say, it was well worth the trip to Charlotte, NC for this SSUSA Philly Team. Almost a month after the Charlotte Invitational, the team is still smiling ear to ear as they reflect on their experience. Their hard-work and dedication stunned the crowd as they went undefeated throughout the entire Cup and took the 1st place trophy home.

Street Soccer Philly Partners with ‘PlayStreets’ in Kensington

Street Soccer Philly put on a one day tournament as part of the city wide summer program called “PLAYSTREETS” in the Philadelphia neighborhood of Kensington.  Supported by local outreach organizations, PLAYSTREETS allows for children to come together as a community in an active and safe way. From 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, multiple streets in the neighborhood were shut down and ready for action. With the support from Impact Services, SSUSA Philly was able to provide a fun afternoon of unstructured soccer games and play!
