Street Soccer USA Partners to Build Two New Fields in Philadelphia

Fields to be Built and Inaugurated at Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey Elementary School and James Finnegan Playground in Partnership with love.futbol and Pincus Family Foundation

In an exciting collaboration and demonstration of teamwork with partners love.futbol and Pincus Family Foundation, Street Soccer USA is working with local communities to create two new safe and fun places for youth to develop through sport.

Multiple leading organizations are joining together to transform the schoolyard at the historic Tanner G. Duckrey Elementary into an innovative multisport space that includes the area’s first-ever soccer pitch! The Friends of Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey, the Pincus Family Foundation, love.fútbol, The Big SandBox, Street Soccer USA, Fountain of Youth Preventive Health Inc., and the School District of Philadelphia, along with volunteers, will build the field together in early October with an Inauguration Ceremony later in the month. Once fully complete, the revitalized schoolyard will include two upgraded NBA size courts, an outdoor classroom area, a peace garden, art installations, new equipment, an asphalt maze and more. Street Soccer USA will use the space its sports-based life skills development programming to ensure the space has lasting impact. To learn more about the project, visit here.

Later in the month, Street Soccer USA will work with love.futbol and the Pincus Family Foundation, as well as Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, to convert an old hockey rink into a new soccer field at James Finnegan Playground in Southwest Philadelphia, mobilizing members of the community to reclaim and rebuild the space for youth development.
