SUSSA Keeps Scoring After the National Cup & Homeless World Cup

There were a lot of goals scored on the pitch by our Sacramento Mohawks men’s and the Lady Salamanders during the National Cup Oct 5-7th.

The Mohawks had an exciting and hard fought weekend leading them to winning the “Play With Heart” Tournament. Star goalie Will Tiemeyer was selected to play for the SSUSA National Team which competed at the Homeless World Cup in Mexico City.

The men’s Sacramento Volunteers of America team was awarded the Fair Play Trophy for their spirit and positivity throughout the tournament.

The Lady Salamanders battled it out all weekend against Chicago and an All State’s team, ultimately taking second place while Chicago women took home first place.

The Lady Salamanders have two players, Tati Payton and Maddy Cirstea, who played on the SSUSA Women’s National Team at the Homeless World Cup.

Wait, it gets better!  Although the Street Soccer USA National Cup is a huge milestone and epic experience for the Street Soccer USA players, we want the joyful, good feelings to last longer than the weekend.  Some of our Sacramento players had incredibly exciting stuff happen immediately after the National Cup.
