The two-day event will feature a full weekend of soccer with SSUSA youth players and recreational adult teams from across the city, hosted at Street Soccer Stadium in San Francisco’s East Cut Crossing.
EAST CUT CROSSING, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (May 9, 2024) — On May 18-19, the 8th Annual Street Soccer USA Cup series returns to downtown San Francisco for a tournament and community celebration like no other. The two-day tournament will feature a full weekend of fast-paced soccer with SSUSA youth players and recreational adult teams from across the city. Hosted at Street Soccer Stadium in San Francisco’s East Cut Crossing, the event will include competitive tournament action, music, food & drinks, along with special guest appearances.
“It’s not a San Francisco summer without the SSUSA Cup,” says Bay Area Managing Director Alex Altman. “For the last year, hundreds of kids across the city have been building towards this day. This is the highlight of the year for them, the day they wake up early, polish their cleats, and head down excitedly to the fields. We can’t wait to celebrate our community together in the best way we know how – on the soccer field.”
On May 18, the Adult Tournament will kick off at 2pm sharp, as play continues until a tournament winner is crowned at 6pm. The 4v4 tournament will draw teams together from across the Bay Area, including competitors both from the Corporate Cup (for company teams) and Open Cup (for recreational teams). Interested teams must register for the Corporate Cup and the Open Cup by Sunday, May 12.
The Youth Tournament will take place on May 19, starting at 10am and continuing through 6pm. Hundreds of SSUSA youth from across San Francisco will take the field, featuring tournaments brackets from elementary through high school. Each participant will receive a new uniform and free lunch, and compete in four fast-paced matches in front of family and friends. The Youth Cup will feature music, live game emcees and a special Guardians of the City match, recognizing local community partners and leaders. We invite community members to volunteer and help support our efforts in team registration, tournament management, and event logistics.
The annual Street Soccer Cup spotlights the power of soccer as a force for social good, while building community through the beautiful game. Proceeds from the Cup support SSUSA’s year-round, free soccer programs that target the city’s hardest-to-reach and most-underserved communities.
